Up till yesterday, I haven't been able to see the value in the LDS practice of Baptism for the Dead, and in trying to learn how it figures so largely in the temple work, up to this point I have seen the one reference in the New Testament whereby Paul speaking to the Corinthians calls into comparison the practice of baptism for the dead, making the fact that such a ritual was a norm in that Lietta Rugerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03013387655042340435noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-43880940938743779.post-27252557934396843652012-08-07T10:55:00.000-07:002012-08-07T17:40:47.471-07:00Bearing testimony and bearing my testimonyIt's been a year and a half since I was baptized into this Church. Baptism for the dead. I am coming to appreciate that this is indeed one of the rituals that LDS members do hold sacred, for reasons having to do with ensuring all have opportunity, living and dead. Creedal Christians which oft recite the Nicene Creed in their worship services and Mormon Christians while having their own perspective do seem, imo, to share many similarities in what they believe to be inviolate truths.
