Errand of Angels

It has been said 'the errand of angels is given to women' (Emily H. Woodmansee) and I find myself on such an errand, even if it has been a long walk to find this phrase as indeed descriptive of my own endeavors.

And Should We Die......... by Arthur Crossley Ruger

And Should We Die......... by Arthur Crossley Ruger
a historical fiction novel, based on the pioneer Martin & Willie Handcart companies encountering treacherous weather while crossing the Rockies, and sustaining a faith not easily captured in words or word telling. Author learned in the writing of this novel of his own family connection in the heritage to one of the members who survived on the Martin Handcart trek. Click on image to purchase the book. See blog footer below for more detail from the author.

Sweetwater Rescue - The Willie and Martin Handcart Story

Sweetwater Rescue - The Willie and Martin Handcart Story
A video documentary I would recommend that more strongly depicts hardships faced by Willie and Martin Handcart companies, caught shorthanded in inclement weather while crossing the Rockies on their journey to Salt Lake City in Utah. People who exercised a faith beyond words... video located at BYU television. Click on photo link to watch the video documentary.

Where are the Women?

a first impression: I find myself repeatedly in a room full of men, and keep wondering where are the women in this process and structure. Men, men, men talking, telling, teaching and preaching.....where are the women?

a later impression: Given a calling as a 3rd Sunday teacher in Relief Society, I've learned a great deal more about the women and they not only have a presence, I could easily say they are foundational to what makes this church work.
